One Sentence Movie Reviews

one sentence horror movie review

There exist so many Horror movies that oftentimes we don’t remember why one movie was good and the other was bad. This post will bring light in one short sentence (maybe more, just don’t inform the grammar police) why we liked or not a movie. Movies will be listed without any order and it should be regarded mostly as fun reading to past some time. This will be updated frequently. You can freely participate in the comment section 🙂

Joy Ride (2001)

Great cast. Rusty Nail as phychotic killer is phenomenal. Lesson: Never do pranks to lonely truck drivers.

Joy Ride 2 (2008)

More blood and gore, but not actually better. Rusty Nail went full psycho. Had he kept his calm, he would have now a new window, door and his car back.

Rampage (2018)

Not a horror movie. Beasts were cute and Dwayne Johnson too. All in all it was a fun action flick.

Summer of  ’84 (2018)

After 15 minutes you know who the killer is. How hard can it be to proof you are right? The answer: Pretty hard and dangerous.

Before I wake (2016)

Kids are scary, if you plan to adopt one, skip the little one who has dreams that can eat you alive. Then…, this isn’t something you will be told beforehead.

A Quiet Place (2018)

As a kid I was told often to keep quiet. I did not follow often. This movie has an awesome group therapy potential! I was quiet, the whole time.

Annabelle Creation (2018)

Creepy tale, combined with great acting. Oh yeah, that Annabelle doll was scary too. Better Movie than the first one.

Better Watch Out (2016)

A clever made Horror thriller, with some unexpected twists. A Babysitter, a kid with a crush and some other visitors and you can have real trouble.

Happy Death Day (2017)

That’s the best killer mask since Scream. Great lead role actress which gives this movie everything to make it worth watching.

Split (2016)

Watch this movie, if you want to have a, WTF did I just saw, reaction. Shyamalan has a sense (6th sense anyone?) to make a boring kidnap look novel.

Mother! (2017)

Weird. How can people come up with such ideas? This was disturbing at first and became outright borderline, I don’t know what, in the end. You will remember this one.

Get Out! (2017)

A black guy goes with his white girlfriend to visit her progressive family. I doesn’t go as well as expected, but that you did expect from a Horror Movie. The build up of hopelessness is masterfully made.

IT – Chapter One (2017)

The kids cast was great, combined with mystery, horror and an iconic villian and you have something unique in front of you. Let the Chapter Two come.

Lights Out (2016)

You will learn to fear the darkness again. At least as long as the movie goes on. Suprising ending, good acting and visuals for a “dark” movie.

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

How long can you trust someone who keeps you safe and locked under the ground without your permission?

Don’t Breathe (2016)

Why not rob a blind man? He’s so helpless and we are three young criminals. After they go into the house, nothing is how they expected. You will either…

The Final Girls (2015)

Ever wanted to be in a slasher movie? Your dreams just became true. The bad thing, nobody said to the killer, he should keep you alive.

Crimson Peak (2015)

Horror Movie with Gothic scenery. You will be suprised about the plot who manages to keep you engaged without any jump scares.

Escape Room (2019)

A selection of extraordinar people (or not) will have the opportunity to play a game, with a $10.000 award price for the winner. I knew this wasn’t a game, haha, but the movie achieves to keep your adrenalin high at all times.

It Follows (2015)

Who doesn’t love sex? What happens when after you do it, you unmistakenly realize, you can yourself regard dead? A movie definitely to watch with your horny girlfriend/boyfriend around.

Oculus (2013)

Mirror, mirror on the wall.. Nope wrong movie! This one was really frightening… Beating the evil behind a mirror which can warp reality is nothing you would wish to encounter.
