Saint Maud is a British horror movie directed by Rose Glass, and stars Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle and Caoilfhionn Dunne.

The film revolves around Maud, a pious live-in nurse, who accepts a job in a small English town to care for Amanda, a once-famous dancer and choreographer who is now terminally ill with cancer. Maud becomes obsessed with helping Amanda see the light and tries to save her soul, believing that she has been sent on a divine mission to help her, and things start to get a bit twisted.

Saint Maud features amazing acting in addition to an engaging storyline. It also contains a healthy dose of jump scares. However, the movie does not rely completely on jump scares, it also uses music to establish a chilling atmosphere.

It is not full of loud, jump scares; in fact, the genius cinematography and sophisticated shadow play are a big part of what makes this film unsettling. The CGI is also very good and some sequences are very surreal. In short, the movie is truly a modern horror masterpiece.
