Possessor (2020)

The film revolves around Tasya Vos, an agent who uses brain-implants to enter into and gain control of other people’s bodies, causing her hosts to commit assassinations on her behalf. Her experiences on these missions have resulted in a significant change in her life, as she tackles violent memories and urges. Over time fatigue and pressure on her mental state escalate, and she eventually becomes trapped inside the head of a man that she cannot escape nor control.

Saint Maud (2019)

Saint Maud is a British horror movie directed by Rose Glass, and stars Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle and Caoilfhionn Dunne.
The film revolves around Maud, a pious live-in nurse, who accepts a job in a small English town to care for Amanda, a once-famous dancer and choreographer who is now terminally ill with cancer. Maud becomes obsessed with helping Amanda see the light and tries to save her soul, believing that she has been sent on a divine mission to help her, and things start to get a bit twisted.
Saint Maud features amazing acting in addition to an engaging storyline. It also contains a healthy dose of jump scares. However, the movie does not rely completely on jump scares, it also uses music to establish a chilling atmosphere.
Children of the Corn (1984)

Children of the Corn has become a cult classic in recent years. It is directed by Fritz Kiersch and stars Peter Horton alongside Linda Hamilton and Josh Franklin.
The film’s plot revolves around a young preacher named Isaac who travels to Gatlin, Nebraska, and recruits the entire town’s children to murder every adult in the town. In this adaptation, Jonathan Harker, a young barrister, is posted to a bleak town in Eastern Europe to assist Dracula with his real estate affairs. The vampire Dracula glimpses a photo of Jonathan’s fiancee, who happens to be the spitting image of his long-dead wife. Dracula then travels to London with the intention of finding and seducing her. This marks the beginning of Dracula’s reign of terror in Britain, while a group of people band together in an attempt to stop him.
Francis Ford Coppola’s take on the iconic character is often regarded as the most faithful adaptation of Stoker’s book. The film is based around Pennywise, a shape-shifting creature who disguises himself as a clown that preys upon children. After Pennywise murders six-year old Georgie in the summer of 1989, Georgie’s big brother, Bill, teams up with three other youngsters to eliminate the monster.
It is an amazing adaptation of Stephen King’s story, and it’s truly a scary film. It is not full of loud, jump scares; in fact, the genius cinematography and sophisticated shadow play are a big part of what makes this film unsettling. The CGI is also very good and some sequences are very surreal. In short, the movie is truly a modern horror masterpiece.
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
